Ygnacio Guevara, 74, of Riviera, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. He was born on April 15, 1944 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Rafael Guevara and Maria Sanchez. Ygnacio was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served in the Vietnam and Koran Conflict. During his lifetime he worked for the King Ranch for 14 years. After working for the King Ranch, he continued his career as a Custom Harvester. He will be greatly missed by many.
Ygnacio is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Feliz Guevara Rangel.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Esperanza Guevara; 12 children, Mary Jane DeLuna (Fidencio), Mary M. Garza(Rene), Rosie Sheppard (Ernie), Walter McKee, Eddie McKee (Monica), Mary Alice Longoria (Eloy), Pedro Guevara (Victoria), Mary Ann Guevara, Ignacio Guevara III, Hope O'Brien (Rob), Juan Guevara, Carmen Guevara (R.D.); brothers, Rafael Guevara Jr., Ylario Guevara; sisters, Juana Guevara, Julia Guevara Avalos, Antonia Guevara Castillo, Maria Dolores Guevara Moreno, Elena Guevara Gomez. Ygnacio is also survived by his 39 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Wednesday, December 26 at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe church Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with an interment to follow at Rivera Cemetery.
