William Jack Brown

We are sad to announce the passing of Jack Brown of Riviera, Texas on April 7, 2023, at the age of 69 after a prolonged illness. Jack was born on May 15, 1953, to James and Angllen Brown of Riviera, Texas. He attended Kaufer High School and was an all-district lineman for three years. After graduating high school in 1971, he went on to study farm and ranch management at Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde, Texas. Upon completion, he returned to Riviera to work for several ranches and began a career in sales. His love for agriculture led him to a lifelong career in ranching and the development of his spray business. In 1973, he met Glenda Phillips Brown and they married the following year. Together they welcomed their first child, Lauren Clair, in 1980 and in 1993, William Clayton was born.

Jack Brown was involved in many things including, ranching, the Kleberg-Kenedy Livestock Show, a member of the First Baptist Church in Kingsville, and was on the Farm Bureau board. He has always been involved in the Kleberg-Kenedy Livestock Show as a participant through his junior high and high school years and later with his two children; he served as a board member, a lamb superintendent, and in 2018, the KKLS was dedicated in his honor. Jack enjoyed traveling with family and friends and visiting his grandchildren.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48years, Glenda P. Brown; children, Lauren (Raymond) Posado and William C. (Anna) Brown; parents, James and Angllen Brown; siblings, T.J. Jr. (Donna) Brown and Sam (Glenda) Brown; grandchildren, Iyla Posado, Angus Posado, Lachlan Posado, and Barrett Brown; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service in honor of Jack will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at the First Baptist Church, 312 West King Street in Kingsville, TX. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Riviera Cemetery, in Riviera, TX.
