CDR. William F. Wolfe USN/Ret.
CDR. William "Bill" Wolfe was born on June 23, 1934 to parents Floyd and Lois Wolfe in Athens, Ohio. He married Patricia "Patti" Lukefahr on April 24, 1965. Having proudly served in the navy for 28 and a half years, he was a fervent patriot who loved his country. He and his family were stationed in places such as Kingsville, Texas, Lakeside, California, South Korea, and returned back to Kingsville in 1980, as it held a special place in his heart.
He was a kind, loving person to family, co-workers, friends and touched everyone that met him. He loved hunting, fishing, fixing up old Mustangs, Jeeps, working in his workshop as well as playing with his dog, Tex. He enjoyed attending local gun shows and selling firearms that he himself restored. He was an avid John Wayne and western films fan whom always got a kick out of telling jokes and stories.
He is survived by his wife, Patti Wolfe, Kingsville; sister Pat Michaels, San Diego, CA; his five children: Dr. Steven (Brenda) Lukefahr, Kingsville, TX; COL(R), USA Benjamin (Brenda) Lukefahr, Kapolei, HI; Kathy Lukefahr, Leander, TX; Joseph Lukefahr, Kingsville, TX; and Melissa Wolfe, Leander, TX. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Jennifer (Luke) Clark, Austin, TX; CPT, USA David (Patricia) Lukefahr, Honolulu HI; Jessica Lukefahr, Kingsville, TX; SRA, USAF Justin Lukefahr, Pasadena, MD; William (Gabriella) Lukefahr, Sunland Park, NM; and Elizabeth Lukefahr, Kapolei, HI. In addition, he is survived by his great-grandchildren: Emery and Candan Clark, Leander, TX; and Julian Holton, Kapolei, HI.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 5th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Turcotte-Piper Funeral Home in Kingsville. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 6th, 2:00 p.m. at McFall Memorial Chapel, NAS, Kingsville.
In lieu of flowers, Bill requested donations be made to the American Heart Association. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Heart Trauma I.C.U. nurses and staff, Dr. Abeer Kaldas, and Dr. Paul Heath.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
