Wanda F. Holmes, age 80, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born September 13, 1935 in Three Rivers, Texas to Alvin A. Wallace and Addie B. Talk Wallace. Mrs. Holmes was employed at King's Inn Restaurant as a cook. She also operated Wanda's Daycare Center, Kingsville.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie Holmes; parents; infant son, Charlie Holmes; brother, Alvin A. Wallace; and two sisters, Bernice Hornsby and Annie Carrol.
Mrs. Holmes is survived by four daughters, Eva Goericke (Lee) of Kingsville, Shirley Halford-Holmes of Beaumont, Texas, Charlene Magee (Stephen) of Haskell, Oklahoma and Denise Eldridge (Denny) of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Eva Montgomery and Shirley Chism, both of Junction, Texas; one brother, Edward Wallace ( Annette) of Wimberley, Texas; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Pat Gideon officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
