Virginia Gordon

Virginia Gordon, age 85, a resident of Bishop, Texas and a former resident (1956-1999) of Premont, Texas passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at her residence. She was born October 10, 1931 in Fairfield, Texas to James Robertson and Buelah Lott Robertson. Mrs. Gordon and her husband were the former owners of Gordon's Cleaners in Premont. In her later years, she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary - Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg, Kingsville. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Premont and presently a member of the First Baptist Church in Bishop.
Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death (March 25, 1995) by her beloved husband, Tobie Gordon; parents; two brothers, Homer Jesse Robertson and George Robertson; and two sisters, Mildred Dunn Cooper and Mona Lee Vaughn.
She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Walshe and husband Rev. Tim of Kingsville, Texas, Sharon Benton and husband Mike of Bishop and Lanette Hoyle and husband Ricky of Kingsville; one sister, Nell Howard of Montgomery, Alabama; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, 311 East Fifth Street, Bishop, with Rev. Tim Walshe, Rev. Clif Abshier and Rev. Lee Ortegon officiating.
Graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at Premont Cemetery, Premont, Texas.

Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
