Vicente Trevino Jr.

Vicente Trevino Jr. was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, who touched lives of many during his journey on this Earth. Born on January 5, 1955, in Riviera, Texas, Vicente embodied warmth and kindness that radiated from him and drew people near. He passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024, in Kingsville, Texas, surrounded by the love of his family.

Vicente was a devoted husband to Anita Trevino, with whom he shared countless cherished memories and happy moments. Together, they weathered life’s storms and celebrated its joys, creating a legacy of love that will continue through their children. Vicente was a proud father to Christina Trevino, Joseph William (Roxanne) Trevino, and Pablo Vicente Garcia, whose lives he enriched with his unwavering support and affection.

As a grandfather, he delighted in the laughter and antics of his grandchildren: Ava Grace Trevino, Matthew Gonzalez, Joshua Gonzalez, Ezra Perez, Elleigh Vasquez, and Bryson Gonzalez. Vicente took immense pride in watching them grow and flourish, making every moment spent together a treasure.

Among his siblings, Vicente held a special bond with his sister, Maria Olga Trevino; his brothers Roberto (MaryJane), Roel (Vilma), and Samuel (Susie) Trevino; as well as his sister Lucy (Joe) Salazar. They shared not just blood, but stories and laughter, maintaining a connection that only family can nurture.

Vicente’s love extended beyond blood ties, as he welcomed his stepsons, David (Rikkie) Gonzalez and Daniel (Grace) Gonzalez, and stepdaughter Alyssa M. (Ricky) Gonzalez into his heart. He also shared a deep respect for his stepfather, Praxedis Buenrostro Jr., who played an important role throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vicente Trevino Sr., his mother, Desidora Buenrostro, and his brothers Jose Rene (Maria) Trevino and Alberto Buenrostro. Their memories will be honored as his family carries on the values and traditions they shared together.

Vicente had a zest for life that was evident in his many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed golfing, finding peace in the rhythm of the game and the beauty of nature. He was an avid fan of the Seahawks, often sharing heated discussions about the games. Vicente found joy in the simple pleasures of watching TikToks and T.V., while his passion for gardening brought beauty and abundance to his home.

The visitation for Vicente will take place at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas, on September 21, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Friends and family are welcome to come together to celebrate a life well-lived, sharing stories and memories that reflect his generous spirit.
