Ura Mae Howe was born November 13, 1926 in Sinton, TX and passed away July 22, 2019 in Kingsville, TX. Her childhood was spent in the Texas Hill Country along the banks of the Colorado River. She moved with her family to Kingsville when her father went to work at Pan American School. Ura Mae studied nursing at Spohn Hospital and then worked at Kleberg Hospital caring for babies in the hospital nursery. Later she worked for several doctors in Kingsville before retiring.
She was predeceased by her parents Ura Belle Marshall and Robert Lee Norvell, her husband John A. (Buster) Howe, and her two children Judith Elaine Hamilton and Dale Wesley Howe.
She is survived by stepsons Jerry Don and Ronnie Howe, ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Granny wore many hats in her long life. She loved nature, photography and nursing. She particularly loved the ocean, seashells and flowers.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday on July 31, 2019 at Turcotte Piper Mortuary chapel. A private burial will be held at Chamberlain Cemetery.
