Tommie I. Trant, age 89, passed away on February 26, 2017 in Kingsville, Texas. He was born August 13, 1927 in Ricardo, Texas to Collie and Annie Trant (Johnson). Tommie was a military veteran, belonged to the Masonic Order in Navasota, TX for 68 years and was also a member of the Kingsville Elks Lodge. Tommie retired from Celanese after 30 years of service as an operator. He loved his real estate business and watching the stock market in his "office" at Kleberg Bank.
He is preceded in death by his wife Doris S. Trant, parents, Collie Tom and Annie May Johnson Trant, sisters, Lillian Trant Swilling, Bessie May Trant, Vivian Bunch Lyle and one son, Tommie Jo.
Tommie is survived by his wife of 24 years Rebecca S. Trant, son David Bruce Trant (Debbie), stepdaughter Bobbi Lyn Prince (Wesley) and brother Collie D. Trant (Beverly). Also surviving Tommie are his grandchildren, Aimee Trant Jones (Kevin), Evan Trant (Amber), Troy Prince and Trent Prince.
To be a good man is to be a man of faith, a good son, a good father, a good husband, and a good friend. Tommie was truly a good man, and will be missed dearly.
A celebration of Tommie's life will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel.
