Tommie Jean Moffitt Pooley, 79, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013. She was born November 11, 1933 in Overton, Texas. She was the daughter of Thomas Moffitt and Ida Inez Cook Moffitt. Tommie Jeans father worked for Humble Oil and Refining Company so her family moved quite a bit during her school years. In 1950, her family moved to Kingsville, Texas where she graduated from H.M. King High School. She married Billy Vernon Pooley on December 27, 1951 at First Baptist Church, Kingsville. After her daughters started school, she decided to go to work and became a secretary at Kingsville Realty Company. While working there she was encouraged to obtain her real estate license which she did and began a career as a real estate agent. From Kingsville Realty she moved to Homestead Properties and then to her final position at Coldwell Banker Homestead Properties. Her career as a real estate agent provided her with a strong connection to the community. She was an ambassador for Kingsville and enjoyed introducing new families to the city.
Tommie Jean was a member of the Womans Club of Kingsville, University Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, and the Javelina Club. She loved the Lord and served in many positions in the church. Additionally, she and Billy enjoyed participating in civic activities from the Womans Club Follies to fundraising for the Javelinas. They also enjoyed traveling with friends the men to golf the women to shop.
Her family was especially dear to her. She is survived by her two daughters, Pamela Donny Trant and Theresa Kyle Budd, grandchildren Michael Michelle Trant, Jill Ryan Williams, Tyler Amy Budd, Julie David Spidle, greatgrandchildren Ramsey, Alice, Cole, Kade, Kylee, Kolby, Landry, Lexy and Shaelyn, brother, Glenn Marie Moffitt, sisterinlaw, Annelle Richard Shilling, as well as nephews Ricky Nona Moffitt, Thomas Tarin Moffitt, Keith Pat Shelley and nieces Carrie Billy Stewart, Lisa Don Shelton and Susan Shelley.
Visitation will begin Sunday, June 9 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the TurcottePiper Mortuary. The family will be greeting relatives and friends at 426 University Boulevard on Sunday, June 9 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 10 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Kingsville with Bro. Jack Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Michael Trant, Ryan Williams, Tyler Budd, David Spidle, Ricky Moffitt and Thomas Moffitt.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Kleberg County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Odyssey Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
