With deep sorrow and much love, we mourn the passing of Tomas F. Garza Jr., 74, who unexpectedly passed away to be with the Lord on March 17, 2021 in Kingsville, Texas. He was born on October 12, 1946 in Kingsville, Texas to Adelaida Flores and Tomas F. Garza Sr. He was an operator at the Celanese plant in Bishop, Texas where he dedicated 28 years before retiring. Prior to working at Celanese, he worked alongside his father at T. Garza Super Market, where Tomas was taught how to process meat. Falling in love with this trade, he continued doing it all of his life. His admiration for hunting, fishing, and horses led to countless days at Baffin Bay, or enjoying races at the horse tracks. He could also recite any edition of Speed Horse Magazine as he was an avid reader. He enjoyed cooking and people would relish for his homemade salsa. Tomas was always the life and soul of the party and was no stranger to social gatherings! He enjoyed nothing more than being with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by both his parents.
Tomas is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maggie Garza; daughter, Veronica (George Michael) Hare; his only granddaughter, Gabriela Hare; and two sisters, Yolanda (Romeo) Reyes and Noelia (Manuel) Mendietta and numerous nieces and a nephew.
Due to Covid and health concerns a walk-through visitation will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2021, with a livestream Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
