Thomas Yaklin

Thomas Stanley "Stan" Yaklin age 80, went to be with our Lord on November 8, 2016 surrounded by his beloved family. He was born to Fredrick Yaklin and Alice Forsthoff Yaklin on May 17, 1936.
Stan was preceeded in death by his parents, Fredrick Yaklin, Sr. and Alice Forsthoff Yaklin and siblings Sylvester Yaklin, Leona Yaklin Brown, Lucille Yaklin Crocker, Robert Yaklin, Rosemary Yaklin Glenn, Helen Yaklin Dotson, and James Yaklin.
He was the youngest of 11 children. He was a lifelong resident of Riviera, Texas and an active, lifetime member of the Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, helped start the Riviera Water Control Improvement District (WCID), was in the Riviera Volunteer Fire department for over 30 years where he held most offices, ran the ambulance, taught advanced first aid, red cross certification, and served as fire marshal.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janice "Jan" Siders Yaklin and four children, Tammy Yaklin Moore (George) and Toby Yaklin (Teresa) of Riviera; Bobby Yaklin (Courtney) of Austin and Tyna Vacek (Rudy) from East Bernard. He is survived by twelve grandchildren, Joshua Leone (Elizabeth), Mandy Moore Cormier (LJ), Morgan Moore, Ashley Gonzalez, Jessica Yaklin Strubhart (BJ), Jesse Yaklin, Joslynn Yaklin, Deborah Yaklin Williams (Hudson), Hannah Yaklin, Brent Vacek, Zachary Vacek and Rylee Vacek Great-grandchildren include Tex Cormier, Gage Cormier, Ellie Cormier, Staci Cardona, Ethan Cardona, Taylor Strubhart, Tanner Strubhart, Tinsley Mittag, Conner Williams and Gentry Williams. He is also survived by his siblings Harold Yaklin (Joyce), Patrick Yaklin (Peggy) and Fred Yaklin, Jr. (Elizabeth) and sisters - in - law, Mary Siders Carlson (Tom), and Sue Yaklin as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, Vattmann, Texas. A funeral mass will be held Friday, November 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Vattmann, Texas
