Senior Chief Norman Wayne Stafford

Norman Wayne Stafford, of Kingsville, passed away on December 29, 2023, in Corpus Christi. He was born on October 13, 1967, in Fredericktown, Missouri, to Otto and Alma (Stevens) Stafford.

A decorated veteran and member of the U.S. Navy, Norm enlisted after high school in 1985, he served for 28 years before retiring as Senior Chief in 2013.  During his time in the U.S. Navy, Norm served in Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Southern Watch, Operation Iraqi Freedom during the First and Second Gulf Wars.

Norm loved to spend time with friends and family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim Stafford, Junior Stafford, and Larry Stafford.

Norm is survived by his son, Matthew (Brittany) Stafford and granddaughter, Kendall Stafford; young daughter Ashton Stafford of Bishop, Texas; sisters, Shirley London, Lois (Jerry) Hahn, Diane (Gavin) Cox, Debbie (Clint) Massa and Brenda Stevens; brothers, Lee Roy Stafford, Donnie (Debbie) Stafford and Les (Karen) Stafford; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive condolences at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024, with chapel service to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. A rite of committal and interment with Military Honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, Corpus Christi, Texas.
