Seferino Amador, age 87, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born June 16, 1929 in Kingsville to Luis Amador and Dolores Varela Amador. Mr. Amador was employed at the King Ranch Running W Saddle Shop as a saddle maker for 42 years until his retirement. Mr. Amador was a U.S. Army veteran of Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kingsville.
Mr. Amador was preceded in death by his daughter, Juanita Gonzales; and parents.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia G. Amador; five children, Anna Maria Montoya (David), Gloria Obregon (Alfredo), David G. Amador (Toni), Daniel G. Amador (Leticia - deceased) and Dora G. Amador; two brothers, Luis Amador and Ruben Amador; one sister, Consuelo Amador; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, 312 West King Avenue, Kingsville. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Willoughby officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by the Veterans of Kleberg County Funeral Military Detail will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
