Secundina Rios

Secundina Vera Rios, age 98, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in Kingsville. She was born November 29, 1917 in Santa Cruz, Texas to Matias Vera and Carlota Chapa Vera. Mrs. Rios was the founder and member of Primera Iglesia Bautista - Templo Bethel in Rios, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Mauro Rios Sr.; two daughters, Carlota Rios and Alvesa Rios; four grandchildren, Teme Rios Jr., Kenneth Rios, Robert Lee Rios and Gilbert Rios; daughter-in-law, Olivia Rios; son-in-law, Charles Houser; and parents.
Secundina is survived by four sons, Teme Rios (Elvira) of Sinton, Texas, Max Rios (Concepcion) of Kingsville, Mauro Rios Jr. (Delfina) of Bishop, Texas, and Samuel Rios (Noelia) of Palito Blanco, Texas; two daughters, Lydia Gutierrez (Elisardo) of Sinton and Rose Houser of Cypress, Texas; 23 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 67 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and host of friends.
Public visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel, Kingsville. Prayer service will be conducted by Rev. Servando Torres Jr. at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Public visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Primera Iglesia Bautisa - Templo Bethel, Rios, Texas. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Primera Iglesia Bautisa - Templo Bethel with Pastor Baldemar Alarcon and Rev. Servando Torres Jr. officiating. Graveside services conducted by Rev. Sandra Moreno will follow in Rios, Texas at Robert Lee Rios Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
