Sara Underwood

Sara Underwood, born on May 18, 1957, in Conyers, Georgia, peacefully departed this life on March 20, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a beloved member of her family and a cherished friend to many.

Throughout her life, Sara embraced her passions wholeheartedly. She found exhilaration in riding motorcycles, the wind in her hair reflecting her adventurous spirit. Fishing brought her peace and relaxation, and her joy in meeting new people illustrated her genuine warmth and curiosity about the world. She adored animals, with Daisy, her feline companion of 25 years, standing out as a true testament to the love she offered to all creatures.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 14 years, Terry Underwood, who remained her steadfast partner and supporter throughout their shared life. Sara was a loving mother to her daughter, BJ Matheny, and embraced the role of mother-in-law with warmth and grace to her son-in-law, Bill Matheny. She took great delight in her grandchildren, Jake, James, and Andy Matheny, who brought her immense joy and pride. Her legacy is also carried on by her great-grandson, Henry Matheny.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Betty Sue. Their love and guidance shaped the wonderful person she became, and they will always be remembered fondly.

As we honor the memory of Sara Underwood, we celebrate her spirit, her many contributions to those around her, and the indelible mark she has left on our hearts. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but the memories of her adventures, laughter, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of her husband, children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
