Samuel Nelson

Samuel Conley Nelson, age 59, passed away on April 15, 2015. Sam was born in Kingsville, Texas on August 24, 1955 to Alfred L. & Mary H. Nelson of Portland, TX. He is preceded in death by one infant brother and grandparents, Guy C. & Wyma A. Hartgraves, and S. D. & Ophelia T. Nelson.
Sam participated in many community organizations, such as Kleberg First National Bank, Boy Scouts of America, the Kingsville Chamber of Commerce, and the Kingsville Economic Development Council. He worked especially hard for his church, First United Methodist Church of Kingsville. Sam was a State Farm agent and later in life, banking and agriculture consumed his time.
Sam is remembered by his loving wife Nancy Kastner Nelson, his son and daughter-in-law Travis C. & Laura B. Nelson and grandson Samuel E. Nelson, his loving daughter Katie M. Nelson, his parents Alfred L. & Mary H. Nelson, and his uncle Thomas K. Nelson of Bishop, Texas.

Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim M. Curran officiating. Graveside services will be private.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
