Rosa Gamboa Hignojos, a beloved homemaker, has passed away at the age of 77. Born on September 18th, 1945, she dedicated her life to her family and loved ones until her passing on May 29th, 2023.
Rosa led an admirable life as a kind and loving wife to her husband and devoted mother to her children. Her love extended beyond the immediate family - she was known as "Tia" by many and loved by all who knew her. She was a source of laughter and comfort for many in their times of need.
Rosa was also granny extraordinaire, and her grandchildren meant more to her than anything else in the world. Their laughter filled her heart with joy, and even when times were tough, she always found time to show them just how much they meant to her.
In true Rosa style, she could make you laugh one minute and confuse you the next. Her stories were always fascinating, and one could listen for hours without ever getting bored. Aside from spending time with family and telling stories, Rosa had another passion - novelas! If there was one thing that you shouldn't interrupt Rosa for, it was when one of her novelas was on.
Rosa had a healing touch, if you ever had a pain, she had a cream or ointment to ease it.
Despite deeply missing her son Alfredito all these years, Rosa stayed strong through the hard times until she finally joined him in eternity. She is now at peace with our Lord, talking up a storm with all those who have passed before us.
There is no doubt that Rosa's demise is a significant loss to all who knew her. However, they can take solace in knowing that she lived an exceptional life surrounded by love right until the end. Her warmth will forever be deeply missed by those touched by her spirit - rest easy Rosa Gamboa Hignojos!
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonar and Tomasa N. Gamboa; son, Alfred G. Hignojos; siblings, Carlos Gamboa and Gloria G. Salcido.
Among those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years, Alfredo A. Hignojos; son, Noah G. (Leah) Hignojos; daughter, Cristina Hignojos; daughter in law, Lupe Hignojos; brother, Cruz Gamboa; grandchildren, Amber Spencer, Joshua Spencer, Angel Ray (Tabitha) Hignojos, Javier Camarillo, and Chris Camarillo; great grandchildren, Tristan, Zachariah, Dominik, Reagan, Lucas, Katie, Albrijhiana, and Jesse.
The family will receive condolences on Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023, at St. Martin Catholic Church.
