Rolando Garza, Sr.

Rolando Garza, Sr., 78, beloved Father, was called to his eternal resting place on December 25, 2020 in Kingsville, Texas. He entered this world on March 18, 1942 in Kingsville, Texas to Feliberto Garza, Sr., and Eva Gaytan Garza. Rolando served in the Navy from 1962-1964. Rolando worked in Payroll Department for the King Ranch before retiring from Koch Refinery as an Operations supervisor. Rolando had a giving heart. He devoted his time to coaching Little League Baseball when he was younger, as well as serving on the board. He was on the board for Anos de Oro where he helped start up a food pantry for the residents of the apartment complex. Rolando was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2623 where he helped start up bingos for the community on Monday and Thursday evenings.

He is preceded in death by both his parents; wife, Guadalupe Rodriguez Garza; and one brother, Reymundo Garza.

Rolando is survived by his two sons, Rolando Garza, Jr. of Kingsville, Texas, and Mark A. Garza (Luis Enrique Rodriguez) of McAllen, Texas; two daughters, Laura Garza Trebotich and Nora Lee (Saul) Cisneros both of Kingsville, Texas; two brothers, Feliberto (Maya) Garza, Jr., of Round Rock, Texas and Armando Garza of Kingsville, Texas; 8 grandchildren, Saul Cisneros Jr., Sergio Cisneros, Thomas Matthew Silguero, Zachary Paul Garza, Brittany Nicole Trebotich, Rolando "Trez" Garza, Deandra Eva Cisneros, and Aleczandra Hope Garza; 2 great-grandchildren, Ava Daenerys and Odell Omar; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021 at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
