Roel Mata

Roel Mata, age 64, departed for the Lord's side on January 5th, 2018. Dad was born on March 10, 1953 to Sofia and Saturnino Mata in Premont, TX. Pa loved his nickname Rabbit.

He is survived by his children, Orlando Roel Mata, Esmelinda Zita Mata, Richard Martinez, Regina Martinez. 11 Grandchildren, Elizabeth Mata, Layla Gallardo, Justine Chapa, Tyra Chapa, Alanna Villareal, Fayth Benavidez, Emma Benavidez, Mia Benavidez, Emory Mata, Tristan Martinez, and Elaina Mata. His Sister Irma Lopez, Wife Esmeralda Mata, previously of 20 yrs, and best friend since 4th grade "Whitey".

Papa is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Ramon Mata and Saturnino Mata, Jr., sister Hilda Garcia, and girlfriend of 12 years, Laura Bautista.

Dad left an impression on everyone he met and was loved by many. His laugh, his remarks and his harmonica will be missed by everyone. As he would always say,

--This is not Goodbye,

--This is I'll see you later.
