Roberto Garza Sr., age 95, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born December 18, 1920 in Yorktown, Texas to Audolio Garza and Paula Villarreal Garza. Mr. Garza was employed for 46 years with Civil Service - Corpus Christi Army Depot until his retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Albina Soria Garza; parents; four brothers, Dicidoro Garza, Adan Garza, Cruz Garza and Apolonio Garza; and five sisters, Eva G. Pacheco, Juanita G. Vela, Amalia G. Garcia, Paula G. Pena and Edelia G. Guerra.
Roberto is survived by one daughter, Maria Guadalupe "Lupita" Garza-Goucher and husband Sam of Portland, Texas; one son, Roberto S. Garza Jr. of Kingsville; two sisters, Lucia G. Diaz of Yorktown and Elvida G. Garcia of Victoria, Texas; and one grandson, Christopher Robert Goucher of Portland.
Public visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Kingsville. Burial with full military honors provided by the Veterans of Kleberg County Funeral Military Detail will follow in Kingsville at the Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
