Robert John Daehn, age 92, a resident of Kingsville, Texas since 1944 passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 in Kingsville. He was born December 6, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois to William John Daehn and Mildred Palm Daehn. Mr. Daehn was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a professional carpenter until his retirement. Robert John Daehn was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He will always be remembered by the community as being an active member of the Veterans of Kleberg County Funeral Military Detail where he participated by being a bugler or being part of the 7-man 21 gun salute team during military honors.
He was preceded in death on December 23, 2009 by his wife, Harriet Isabel Daehn; and son, Charles "Buddy" Henry Daehn who passed away April 15, 2009.
Robert John Daehn is survived by four sons, William John Daehn II of Kingsville, Robert John Daehn Jr. of Aransas Pass, Texas, Emmett Grief Daehn of Sulphur Springs, Texas and Edward Norman Daehn of Kingsville; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
A patriotic memorial service in honor of Mr. Daehn will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain Christopher Sutton officiating. Military honors provided by the Veterans of Kleberg County Funeral Military Detail will follow outside of the mortuary immediately at the conclusion of the memorial service.
