Richard Wood

Richard Ernest Wood, age 74, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 in Kingsville. He was born December 19, 1940 in Edinburg, Texas to Lester Otis Wood and Dorothy Miller Wood. Mr. Wood was Captain of the city of Kingsville Fire Department for 26 years until his retirement. He also was a volunteer fire fighter. Richard was a member of First Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years of marriage, Judy Wood of Kingsville; two sons, Richard E. Wood Jr. (Casey) of Conroe, Texas and Robert Michael Wood of Indianapolis, Indiana; two step-daughters, Lisa Teas (Tommy) of Conroe and Rochelle Abernathy (John) of Baytown, Texas; one sister, Sharon Cyrus of Kingsville; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the First Christian Church, 1900 South Brahma Blvd., Kingsville, with Rev. Terry Neel officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Resthaven Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 1900 South Brahma Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
