Reynaldo Garcia

Reynaldo V Garcia passed away on September 2, 2021, at the age of 94.  He was born in Ricardo Texas on December 12, 1926, to Hilario Garcia and Antonia Villanueva. Reynaldo was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother and Uncle. He will be dearly missed. He served his country in the US Army, followed by a 30-year career with Texas A&I University. His favorite past time was spending time with Family, watching western movies, and spending countless hours and days with his coin collection.

He’s preceded in death by his Parents; numerous brothers and sisters; and two brothers-in-law.

Reynaldo is survived by the greatest love of his life, whom he loved to the end, Cecilia Quintanilla Garcia. A marriage which lasted 69 years, created nine children, Reynaldo Jr., Rolando (Angie), Robert, Ricky (Jackie), Ramiro, and Roy, Esther Silva (Mike), Esmeralda, Estella, and Gil Patrick (Genie) Chapa; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a brother, several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00PM.  Funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel at 9:30AM, on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM. A Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.

The family appreciates all your thoughts, prayers, and condolences. At their request, please refrain from handshakes and hugs in the chapel during visitation. Also, per the family’s request, masks must be worn upon entering the funeral home.
