Reymundo Olivarez Sr., age 86, a resident of Ricardo, Texas passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 7:20 a.m. in Kingsville. He was born March 15, 1929 in Kingsville to Guadalupe Olivarez and Maria Serna Olivarez. Mr. Olivarez was employed for the Kingsville Independent School District for 37 years until his retirement. Also he had worked for John Gillett Ranch for 42 years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years of marriage, Audilia A. Olivarez; parents; three brothers, Alfredo Olivarez, Raul Olivarez and Lupe Olivarez Jr.; and one sister, Juanita Lopez.
Reymundo is survived by one daughter, Ruthie Ludin Valdez (Tommy) of Corpus Christi, Texas; five sons, Rey Olivarez Jr. (Norma), Rene Olivarez (Ophelia) and Rene Lozano, all of Ricardo, Texas, San Marcos Lozano (Debbie) of San Antonio, Texas and Ismael Lozano of Austin, Texas; one brother, Alejandro Olivarez (Irma) of Ricardo; one sister, Maria Olivarez Asch (John) of Kingsville; seven grandchildren, Rosalinda Conchas (Isai), Rene Ray Olivarez, Gabriel Anthony Olivarez, Roxsanna Olivarez, Regina Olivarez, Tanya Barcenas and Benjamin Paul Lozano; and two great-grandchildren, Lilliana "Lilly" Conchas and Ethan Daniel Conchas.
Visitation will take place after 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will also take place Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1400 Brookshire Drive, Kingsville, with Fr. Romeo Salinas as celebrant. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Resthaven Cemetery.
