Ray Naranjo

Ray Naranjo, 65, passed away on December 29, 2020 in Riviera, Texas. He was born on October 24, 1955 in Kingsville, Texas to Pedro Garcia Naranjo and Simona Cortez Ruiz. Ray was retired and worked many years as a store clerk for the Seahawk Drive in Store in Riviera. Ray received his journeyman license in plumbing and began working for Wright’s Plumbing, then he opened his own plumbing business with his coworker Mark. He enjoyed fishing, B-B-Qing, and spending time with his family. He spent a lot of time with his companion Mary Paula Philips in San Antonio. He loved to listen to Spanish music and loved to dance. Ray enjoyed life to the fullest.

He is preceded in death by his father, Pedro Garcia Naranjo; brother-in-law, Ralph Gomez; and son, Michael (Mikey) Naranjo.

Ray is survived by his partner, Mary Philips; mom, Simona Ruiz; children, Amy Girty (Russell), Lori Garcia (Cody), Gina Geohegan (Nicholas); sisters, Erma Weed (C.J.), Juanita Cordero, Margie Gomez, Tammy Mcllwain; brothers, Joe Naranjo, Ruben Naranjo, Pete Naranjo (Tammy), Danny Naranjo, Tony Naranjo (Sonia); and grandchildren, Dante, Rylie, Nicholas, Cameron, Amelia, and Annabelle.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Riviera, Tx. Interment will follow at Riviera Cemetery.
