Ramiro Tijerina

Ramiro Tijerina of Kingsville, TX passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at the age of 81.  He was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  Ramiro had a loving energy of his ranch and horses, through a joyful journey that he deeply cared for; he also enjoyed deer hunting.  Ramiro loved making leather cases for his guns and making wood canes.  He was a proud U.S. Marine Corp veteran, who proudly served his country during the Vietnam era and retired from Celanese as an electrician.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Omelia V. Tijerina; parents, Carlos and Juanita Tijerina; and daughter, Elva Perez.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Hilda Escobedo; son, Rolando V. (Norma G.) Perez; grandchildren, Ruby Ann Escobedo and Johnny Escobedo; great grandchildren, Anyssa, Gianni, and Zanae Escobedo from Phoenix, Arizona; and numerous extended family members.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 12, 2022, at St. Martin Catholic Church.  A Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
