Presciliana Cortez

Presciliana P. Cortez, age 86, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born January 9, 1929 in Norton, Texas to Juan Perez and Maria Refugia Vargas Perez. Mrs. Cortez worked as a cleaning lady for various businesses and local homes. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
Presciliana was preceded in death by her husband, Miguel Z. Cortez; oldest son, Miguel Cortez Jr.; parents; one brother, Gabriel Perez; and three sisters, Juanita Perez, Francisca Aguero and Ramona Adame.
She is survived by two sons, Juan Gabriel Cortez and Mark Anthony Cortez, both of Kingsville; one daughter, Maria Dalia Daniel (Christopher) of Kentucky; and six grandchildren, Robert Daniel, Thomas Daniel, Michael Cortez, Gabriel Cortez, Francis Cortez and Celeste Lallement.
Visitation will take place after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Thenan as celebrant. Burial will follow in Kingsville at the Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
