Pedro Garza

Pedro G. De La Garza, age 95, a resident of Corpus Christi, Texas and a former longtime resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in Corpus Christi. He was born November 14, 1919 in Corpus Christi to Pedro De La Garza Sr. and Senovia Guerrero De La Garza. Mr. De La Garza was employed as a welder for HEB until his retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and fought throughout Europe. Pedro, a medic, was part of the 104 Division Timberwolves Nightfighters. After the war, Mr. De La Garza was awarded various medals for serving in World War II.
Mr. De La Garza was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Robles De La Garza.
He is survived by one son, Pete De La Garza (Melissa) of Kingsville; four daughters, Gloria Ponce (late Greg) of Kingsville, Gracie Lerma (Noe) of Corpus Christi, Norma De La Garza and Edna De La Garza (Ali), both of San Antonio, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday February 20, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at St. Martin's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Kingsville at the Santa Gertrudis Cemetery will full military honors provided by the Veterans of Kleberg County Funeral Military Detail.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
