Paul Goode

Paul K. Goode, age 87, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 in Kingsville. He was born May 4, 1928 in Quincy, Massachusetts to Joseph Michael Goode and Ethel Killian Goode. Mr. Goode was a graduate of Boston College obtaining his B.S. and a graduate of Catholic University, Washington, D.C. obtaining his Masters Degree. Paul was employed at Texas A&I University/Texas A&M University - Kingsville as head librarian for 25 years until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of Texas Library Association, American Library Association, St. Gertrude Catholic Church and former member of the St. Gertrude Parish Council. He was also a member of Advisory Board for Kingsville Area Credit Union.
Mr. Goode was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia W. Goode; parents; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa M. Goode of Kingsville; five sons, Paul K. Goode Jr. of Richmond, Virginia, Frank Goode and wife Leisa of Lubbock, Texas, Robert Goode and wife Patricia of Fort Worth, Texas, James Goode and wife Sharon of Washington, D.C. and Joseph Goode and wife Anne of Waterford, Virginia; one stepson, Presiliano Gonzales and wife Dana of Cypress, Texas; two step-daughters, Lillian Ewens and husband Ray of Gulf Breeze, Florida and Angelica Cristan and husband Rey of Frisco, Texas; two sisters, Elizabeth Cronin of Sherborn, Massachusetts and Ethel Ann Conley of Falmouth, Massachusetts; 18 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church with Fr. James Stembler as celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Robert J. Kleberg Public Library, 220 North 4th Street, Kingsville, Texas 78363.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
