Pablo Gonzalez

Pablo G. Gonzalez passed away on November 7, 2017 at the age of 85. He was born on June 30, 1932, to Roberto and Martina Gonzalez in Bishop on the Boswell farm. He was the 5th of 13 children that reached adulthood.
Pablo was a member of the church of Christ (Iglesia de Cristo).
Pablo worked as a migrant worker, farm hand, road crew, and custodian - whatever would provide for his family. He taught his children the value of family, hard work, education, and helping others. He was known for bringing hitchhikers home to eat, clean up, and rest. He said his children might one day be in a similar situation needing help.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife's parents, Ysabel and Paula Garza, Eustorjio & Tomasa Espinoza, and three of his older brothers, Gusto (Irene) Gonzalez, Daniel (Rafaela) Gonzalez, and Angel (Francisca) Gonzalez.
He is survived by his wife, Tomasa Gonzalez; daughter, Paula King and children Nathan King, Damaris (Brian) Flack, Heston (Kelly) King, and Krista King; son Ernest (Lydia) Gonzalez and children Amelia Gonzalez and Andrea Gonzalez; and daughter Ysabel Christina Gonzalez. Great-grandchildren include Jackie King, Natalie King, Noah King, Anna Flack, Landry Flack, Evey Flack, and three more to come soon.
Surviving siblings are Roberto (Antonia) Gonzalez, Genaro (Celia) Gonzalez, Juana (Antonio) Davila, Raul (Consuelo) Gonzalez, Ernesto (Patricia) Gonzalez, Elijio (Juanita) Gonzalez, Casimero (Juana) Gonzalez, Federico (Soledad) Gonzalez, and Maria (Ramiro) Garcia.
Surviving in-laws include Santos (Librada) Samora, Dalia Romero, George Garza and Anna (Antonio) Reyes.
Pablo was fortunate to have close to 100 nieces and nephews. A special thanks goes out to those who always made time for their Tio Pablo and made him feel special.
A big thank you also goes out to "Kung Fu" - he was always there to help in any way he could.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 9, 2017, from 5 pm to 9 pm with a prayer service starting at 7 pm at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel (205 General Cavazos Blvd) in Kingsville, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017, at 10 am at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Interment to follow at Restland Cemetery in Bishop.
