Oscar Fuentes

Oscar Felipe Fuentes, age 19, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017 in Refugio County, Texas. He was born August 12, 1997 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Oscar Fuentes and Belinda Fassold Fuentes. Oscar was a 2016 graduate of Academy High School. Oscar was a member of National Honor Society and made the Dean's List in the Fall of 2016. He was presently a Freshman honors student at Texas A&M University - Kingsville and was selected to serve as a Presidential Ambassador. He was Senator for Student Government Association for the College of Arts and Sciences and Chair of the External Committee, as well as Secretary for the Javelina Students for Sustainability and member of the Pre-Law Society. He was also a volunteer at Kingsville Chamber of Commerce. Oscar was accepted to Texas A&M University, College Station, for the 2017 Fall enrollment.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Chester Fassold (January 31, 2017).
Survivors, all of Kingsville, include his parents, Oscar Fuentes and Belinda Fassold Fuentes; one brother, Creag Lucian Fuentes; one sister, Victoria Natalia Fuentes; maternal grandmother, Emilia B. Fassold; paternal grandparents, Luis Fuentes Jr. and Olivia Fuentes; maternal uncle, Mark Fassold (Angie); paternal aunt, Cynthia Villalon (Antonio); paternal uncle, Luis Fuentes III (Jennie); cousins, Alyssa Fuentes DeLaGarza, Antonio Villalon III, Esteban Villalon, Anthony Fassold and Mia Fassold.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017 at St. Martin's Catholic Church, 715 North 8th Street, Kingsville. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017 at St. Martin's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at St. Martin's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
