Norman W. Earls

Norman Earls, a dedicated retired ADJC Navy Chief Petty Officer, passed away on June 1, 2024. He was born on May 25, 1937, in Whitley City, Kentucky to Walter and Dora (Allen) Earls. Norman's career spanned over 22 years in the Navy, 10 years in Civil Service, and another 5 years at the Post Office. His commitment to serving his country and community was unwavering.  During his time in the military, Norman excelled as an Aviation Machinist's Mate Chief Petty Officer, showcasing skills and dedication to his work. His proudest accomplishments included moving from Florida to Georgia where he fulfilled his dream of owning a farm. Later on, he settled in south Texas in Premont during his retirement years, where he cherished taking care of his cattle and farm while embracing each day to the fullest with morning walks.
 
 Aside from his professional achievements, Norman found joy in simple pleasures. He was known to savor half a glass of wine with chips every afternoon while sharing his Cheetos with his beloved dog Lucy. He and his wife would eagerly await the airing of Jeopardy, engaging in friendly competition to see how many questions they could answer correctly. Norman's presence illuminated the lives of many nephews and nieces who will deeply miss him.
 
Norman Earls leaves behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, and genuine passion for life. His memory will be cherished by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace knowing that he made a lasting impact on those around him.

 

He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Alberto Reyna; parents, Walter and Dora (Allen) Earls; siblings, Walter Earls, Mabel Jones (Thurman), Ernest Earls (Marge), Arnold Earls (Tinney), Norma Jean Perry (Jay), Wilma Duncan (Bob), Susan Water, and Sammie Perkins (Danny Joe). 

 

Among those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Virginia (Gonzalez) Earls, from Rios, Tx.; son, John Allen Earls (Barbara) their son, Steven Brett Altman and his daughters, Gracie Altman and Yzabella Altman; daughter, Dalia Reyna and her children, Omar Reyna (Heidi) and their children, Miriam and Silas Reyna, Adrian Reyna (Maryann) their son, Joseph Solis, Alyssa Reyna-Flores (Ruben), and Andres Reyna (Victoria) their son Ezrian Reyna.; and brother-in-law, Ronni Water.; and sister-in-law, Alma Larson.

 

The family will receive condolences at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a chapel service to take place at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Premont Cemetery, Premont, TX.

 

Honoring Mr. Norman Earls as pallbearers are, Omar Reyna, Adrian Reyna, Andres Reyna, Ruben Flores, Brett Altman, and Thomas Gonzalez.
