Nora Garcia

Nora H. Garcia passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at the age of 66.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  Nora never met a stranger; she will always be remembered for her bold personality and those H-E-B or Walmart aisle chats with those she knew very well. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her only son, Jose Rene “JR” Garcia, Jr.; and her parents, Pedro Sr. and Augustina Alvarez Hinojosa.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 50 years, Jose Rene “Borrado” Garcia, Sr.; daughter, Priscilla Garcia; grandchildren, Pamela Lerma (Jose Isaac Garcia, IV)., Derek Ryan Garcia, and Ava Rae Garcia; great-grandchildren, Bailey Nicole Muñoz, Abriella Rae Garcia, Mateo Cristian Lerma, and Delanie Elizabeth Lerma; siblings, Cindy Hinojosa, Pedro Hinojosa, Jr., and Jerry Alvarez; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Martin Catholic Church.  Following mass, Nora will be laid to rest with her beloved son, JR at Chamberlain Cemetery.
