Nelda McQueen, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, left this world August 18, 2024, at her home in Kingsville, Texas, where she passed peacefully. Born on August 2, 1935, in Erick, Oklahoma, Nelda lived a life enriched by her love of reading, traveling, and the excitement of gambling, which brought her joy and adventure.

Throughout her career, Nelda made her mark as a dedicated manager in the food industry, showcasing her exceptional leadership and commitment. Her career was not merely a collection of responsibilities; it was a testament to her enduring work ethic and lively passion for bringing joy. Colleagues admired her not just for her professionalism, but for the contagious enthusiasm she brought into the workplace.

Outside of her professional life, Nelda embraced the joys of reading, traveling, and gambling, interests that painted her world with adventure and discovery. She was a force of nature at the billiard table, proudly claiming multiple trophies that spoke to her competitive spirit and sharp wit.

Nelda’s family was her greatest treasure. She leaves behind her beloved children: Michael McQueen of Kingsville, TX; Cindy Foster of Kingsville, TX; Debra (Mark Cagle) Reinier of Theodore, AL; and Dannie Lynn (Dale) Aasted of Mulino, OR, who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Doyle Bates and Lola (Taul) Bates, her son Mark McQueen, her cherished grandchildren, Michael McQueen and Jamie Hill, and her great-grandson Thalamus Limon.

As we gather to celebrate Nelda's remarkable life, we invite you to join us for visitation on August 25, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, located at 205 General Cavazos Blvd, Kingsville, TX.

Nelda's vibrant spirit, loving nature, and indomitable will to celebrate life will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her family finds solace in the beautiful memories they created together and the unwavering bond that will forever connect them
