Monica Allen

On Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, our dear friend, loved one and heart, Monica A. Allen passed away and went to be with our Lord after a long, hard battle with Fibromyalgia.

Monica was born on Dec. 22, 1963 in Marshall, Texas. She was an amazing mother, sister, friend and person. Monica was a devoted member of Bay Area Fellowship Church. Everyone who knew Monica knows that she loved to serve others whether it was baking an amazing cake, spending the entire night barbequing and making potato salad or organizing a rummage sale for a friend in need. Monica loved and served the way our Lord intended us to. Monica would spend hours in prayer for the people whom God would lay on her heart to pray for. She loved life, her favorite pastime was quilting with her sister, Cheri but, she enjoyed everything from being on the water fishing to lying on the couch cuddling with her pup, Goldie and she absolutely loved to watch a night of fireworks. Above all else, she loved and served our Almighty God, and now she is wrapped in His arms for eternity.

Monica is survived by her beautiful daughter, Brandy Nicole Ward. She is also survived by her parents and siblings. Monica considered many people family, and being family by blood was not always the case. Monicas parents in her view were Janie Mahon mother of Hollister, Mo. Bobby and Leila Mom and Pops Lawson of Kingsville, Texas birth mother Betty and Buck Brunson of Houston, Texas and birth father Hiram Stephen Post Jr. of Hawkins, Texas. Her siblings are as follows: Cheri Lawson, Carmon Jarvis, Christy Dunlap, Colette Elliott, Truckie Ruddell, Michael Post and Stephenie Smith. The service schedule for Monica Allen is a celebration of life party in her honor at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 in Riviera, Texas at The De La Rosa Ranch. Her ashes will be spread over Caddo Lake, as per her wishes, at a later date.


In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations to help Brandy with expenses be made to the Monica Allen Fund, co Cheri Lawson or Taryn Allen at Chemcel Credit Union.
