Mike Perez

Mike Rangel Perez, 83, passed away on January 17, 2023. He was born on June 25, 1939. He was employed by Celanese in 1977, until he retired 20 years later; and worked as a plumber for many years. He was an Avid Dallas Cowboys fan, enjoyed watching the baseball Chicago Cubs, loved weekend camping trips, and traveling. He was a very family-oriented man and worked hard to provide for them. Mike took great care of his wife throughout her illness until her passing in 2012; she was the love his life. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mike will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Dora Perez; mother, Concepcion Garza; brothers, Lazaro Perez, Sr. and Israel Perez; and sister, Ofelia Bernal.

Among those left to cherish his memory is his daughters, Norma (Gabriel) Cavazos, Gloria Straub, and Nelda Benavente; brother, Eleazar Rangel (Josie) Perez; grandchildren, Ariel, Amanda, Lorenzo Albair, Moses, Jonathan, Noah Cavazos, Noelle, Nicole, Danielle Straub, Ruben Miguel, Isiah Candelario, and Sergio Benavente; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at St. James Catholic Church, Bishop, TX. A rite of committal and interment St, James Catholic Cemetery, Bishop, Tx.
