Melvin Cash

Melvin C. Cash Sr., age 89, a resident of Seadrift, Texas passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born March 4, 1925 in Wylam, Alabama to Jeffy Cash and Marion Winn Cash. Melvin served over 26 years in the U.S. Navy until his retirement. He was a veteran of World War II, Korean War Vietnam Era and Cuban crisis.
He was preceded in death by his parents soninlaw, Jimmy Whitlow and greatgrandson, Konner Whitlow.
Mr. Cash is survived by wife of 62 years of marriage, Georgia Cash of Seadrift three daughters, Ann Patterson Wayne of Kingsville, Texas, Martha Whitlow of Atlanta, Texas and Methel Carroll Ed of Port Lavaca, Texas one son, Melvin Cash Jr. Debra of Walla Walla, Washington nine grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the TurcottePiper Mortuary. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 at Seadrift Cemetery, Seadrift, Texas with Rev. Carl Westbrook officiating. Military honors will take place after the graveside service.
Services are entrusted to TurcottePiper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
