Maurice L. Hanson, was born October 19, 1932, in Nueces County, and grew up in the Luling-Lockhart area where he attended Lockhart High School. He passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018, following a lengthy battle with cancer, at his home in Ricardo surrounded by his loving family.
After 50 years of faithful service, Maurice retired from the Kingsville Publishing Company.
Surviving Maurice are his loving wife of 43 years, Shirley Ann Hanson, of Ricardo, four daughters, Joyce Collins (Randy), of Cedar Park, Linda Warner of Cuero, Karrie Reyes (Mike), of Flint, Michigan, Tracey McFarland, of Burgaw, North Carolina, one son, Allen Pool, of San Antonio, one sister, Gladys McGee of Kingsville, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Maurice was an outdoor person, and his passions through the years were: Shirley, hunting arrow heads, building furniture from old wood, fishing, planting and maintaining a beautiful yard and garden, and he was an avid guitar player. Whatever Maurice was involved in, he had Shirley right by his side. Maurice was a member of Ricardo Baptist Church.
The memorial service for Maurice Hanson will be at the Ricardo Baptist Church, Friday, April 6, 2018, at 10:30 AM, with Buddy Joiner, Pastor, officiating.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd. Kingsville, Texas.
