Mary Harris

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Collins Harris (58) announces her passing after a long illness on Monday, July 5, 2021, at her home in Kingsville, TX., with her family by her side.  Mary was born in Big Spring, Texas to Patrick M. and Norma J. Collins; she was the first of four kids.  Kingsville and Houston were home to Mary, she loved culinary and worked at La Cupala for many years, before starting a new career in Retail Management.  This led Mary to starting her own businesses up until her cancer diagnoses.  Mary had a passion for her beloved dogs that she considered to be her children. She had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, gardening, arts and crafts, and was the #1 Dallas Cowboy Fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband of six years, Dwane Harris; her father, Patrick M Collins, of Kingsville, TX.

Mary will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Norma J. Collins of Kingsville, TX.; brother Patrick J. (Gina) Collins; sisters, Christine (Brian K.) Sewell of Colorado Springs, CO, and Susan Rutherford of Kingsville, TX.; her nieces and nephews, Gary M. (Kelsey) Rule, Brianne M. (Sean) Serafini, Amanda Collins, Kaylee C. (Patrick) Stoll, Megan (Bobby) Sanchez, Kevin Rule, Rachel (James) Biscano, and Hope Rutherford; and her adored great-nieces and nephews, Ava Biscano, Levi Biscano, Crew Sanchez, Shiloh Stoll and Auggie Stoll.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Weavers of Love.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, July 9, 2021, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., beginning at 6:00 PM; with a holy rosary to be recited at 6:30 PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church.  A private burial will be held at a later date.
