Mary Croom

Mary Louise Croom, 69, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away May 6, 2014 with her daughter and soninlaw by her side. She was born July 4, 1944 in McAllen, Texas to Marguerite and W.C. Windy Cartwright.
Mary had three daughters, Wendy, Charlie Brown and Leslie, with her first husband, James Allen.
Mary was a feisty lady that never met a stranger. Her bright personality was always displayed by her bright colorful wardrobe. She enjoyed working in the public, some of her jobs included managing Allens StopNShop on Caesar14th Managing Allens Steak House, both in Kingsville, Texas. Mary was proud to be recognized as the first woman manager of Sherwin Williams Store. She managed stores in Long View, Texas and West Helena, Arkansas.
She will be missed by her loving husband, Donnie Croom her sisters, Jean Dennis Johnson and Cindy Dale Johnson her daughter, Wendy Julian Vest, and her grandson, Ryan Lisa Marie Vest and her greatgranddaughters, Princess Nela and Princess Aria Vest, who referred to her as Mary Poppins.
Marys family will be honoring her decision to not have a public service, however, they will continue to celebrate her life daily through fun memories and laughter.
Memorials are suggested to local Animal Shelters, and Cancer Research.
