Maria Tejeda

Maria Tejeda, of Kingsville, Texas passed away on September 7, 2021. She was born in Mathis, Texas on January 13, 1943. She married the love of her life, Rosendo Tejeda in 1964. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Maria also enjoyed playing bingo.

She was preceded in death by both her parents; siblings, Refugia Moya, Manuela Herrera, Guadalupe De Los Santos, Antonia Ramirez, and Santos Garza; and son, Ricky Herrera.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Rosendo Tejeda; children, Augustine Herrera Jr., Joe Tejeda, Raymond Tejeda, Patricia De Los Santos, Rosemary Tejeda, Rey Tejeda, Rosendo Tejeda Jr., Diane Tejeda; siblings, Dolores Herrera, Juanita Garcia, Josephine Flores, Raymond Garza, and Juan Garza; and 15 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with the rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
