Maria Magdalena Sanchez, known to her loved ones as Molly, passed away peacefully at home on September 14, 2023. She was born on May 15, 1948. Molly dedicated over four decades of her life to law enforcement, leaving a lasting impact on the communities she served.
Molly began her career as a dispatcher at the Kingsville Police Department in 1978. She later transferred to Kleberg County in 1979, working as a jailor and dispatcher. In 1989, she transitioned into a deputy role for Kleberg County until 1991 when Molly joined the University Police Department. Her unwavering commitment and professionalism were evident throughout her tenure there, which lasted until 2003. Following her time at UPD, Molly joined the Bishop PD and remained there until her well-deserved retirement in 2020.
As a police academy graduate, Molly's passion for law enforcement was infectious. Her genuine dedication was matched only by her unwavering love for her family. She instilled faith in all members of her family, from her oldest child to the youngest great-grandchild.
Outside of work and family responsibilities, Molly found joy and solace in various hobbies and interests. She loved her novellas, spending time with her beloved dog Mona, and attending church faithfully.
Molly's warm and loving personality was admired by all who knew her. She had an incredible ability to speak the truth with compassion, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Her wisdom and guidance will be deeply missed by friends, family, and colleagues alike.
Molly is survived by her children: Velma (David) Trevino of Kingsville, Ismael "Rod" (Rebecca) Rodriguez of Grand Prairie, Michelle (Gabriel) Macias of Kingsville, and Roel (Nicole) Sanchez. She will be dearly missed by her cherished grandchildren: David Trevino, Mark Trevino, Jacob Trevino, Miranda Cortez, Rayni Rodriguez, Nicholas Rodriguez, Mark Cortez, Marina Gutierrez, Marlina Beltran, Brooke Wyant, Marissa Cortez, Amber Rodriguez, Colt Hilburn, Roel Sanchez III, Maximillian Sanchez, and Levi Sanchez. Molly was also blessed with 36 great-grandchildren and 6 siblings, who will miss her deeply.
Molly was preceded in death by her dear son, Juan Gilberto "John" Sanchez; parents, Gilberto and Maria Gonzalez; her sister, Martha "Paloma" Gonzalez; her great-grandson Wyatt Albie Eyani Hilburn; and her beloved canine companion Mona.
The services to celebrate the life of Molly Sanchez will be held as follows: visitation on September 19, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary located at 205 General Cavazos Blvd in Kingsville with a prayer service to follow at 7:00 PM.
The Funeral Service will be held on September 20, 2023 at Praise Victory Church located at 1800 E Corral Ave in Kingsville, beginning at 10:00 AM. Following the service, Molly will be laid to rest at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery located at 835 W Caesar Ave in Kingsville.
Molly Magdalena Sanchez will forever remain in our hearts and memories. Her legacy as a dedicated law enforcement professional and loving family member leaves an indelible mark on all those who had the privilege to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
