Maria Gonzales

Maria Elena Gonzales, 82, a resident of Riviera, Texas passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013. She was born June 8, 1931 to Felipe and Jacinta Alegria. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Riviera. Maria had a great love for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and taking care of her plants.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years of marriage, Raul G. Gonzales, Sr.
Maria is survived by five daughters, Soyla Booth of New Braunfels, Texas, Rosa Buster of Riviera, Nora Gonzales of Premont, Texas, Sara Trevino of Premont, Gloria Gonzales of Kingsville, Texas six sons, Mike Gonzales Dee of Kingsville, Joe Gonzales Maria of Premont, Raul Gonzales, Jr. of Riviera, Ruben Alegria Angelique of Premont, David Gonzales of Riviera, Steven Gonzales Monica of Arlington, Texas three sisters, Filomena Martinez of San Francisco, California, Teresa Silvas of Encino, Texas, Matilde Rivera Feliciano of New Braunfels four brothers, Jose Guadalupe Alegria, of Riviera, Felipe Alegria, Jr., of Falfurrias, Texas, Jose Alegria of Kingsville, and Alfredo Alegria Celia of Falfurrias 43 grandchildren and 45 greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday, August 22, 2013 with a Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at the TurcottePiper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Riviera. Burial will follow at Riviera Cemetery in Riviera.
