Maria J. Garza, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on February 28, 2024. She was known for her kind heart, warm smile, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Maria's presence touched the lives of many, and her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on December 23, 1956, Maria led a fulfilling life filled with simple joys and meaningful connections. She found solace in sewing and knitting, challenging her mind with crossword puzzles, and basking in the sun at the beach. However, above all else, Maria treasured moments spent with her family and friends, creating lasting memories that will endure through generations.
Maria is survived by her loving husband Ernesto Garza, Sr.; children Luzianne G. Zapata (Pedro), Jose A. Garza, and Ernesto Garza, Jr.; siblings Karla Villeda and Alfredo Villeda; nieces and nephews she loved as her own, Rosanna Garza, Mario Garza, and Joaquin Lerma; as well as 14 grandchildren and numerous extended family members. She is preceded in death by her son Isaac Garza, mother Graciela Garcia, and sister Mercedes Nava.
During this time of mourning, let us remember Maria for the light she brought into the world and the love she shared without reservation. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her kindness and compassion.
Services to honor Maria's life will be held at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, TX. Visitation will take place on March 15th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. A Chapel Service will be held on March 16th at 10:00 AM, and an interment will take place at Santa Gertrudis cemetery at a later date.
