Maria De La Paz

Maria Dolores Lerma De La Paz, 84, passed away on November 20, 2020 in Kingsville, Texas. She was born on January 22, 1936 in Falfurrias, Texas to Guadalupe Lerma and Paula Guerra.

Maria was always up for a weekend trip whether to Corpus, San Antonio, or anywhere. Her happiest moments were spending time, making memories, and most especially “Soul Food Sundays” surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Adan G. De La Paz; son, Adan De La Paz, Jr.; and five brothers.

Maria is survived by her children, Rosa E. Leos (Jesse), Norma L. Charles (David), Cynthia De La Paz; six grandchildren, Rose M. Hernandez, Jesse Leos, Jr. (Monica), Erika Leos, Clarissa Garcia, Jon D. Charles, Christopher J. Charles (Kaela); 9 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
