Manuel Ramos, Jr.

Manuel Ramos, Jr., born July 25, 1941, passed away on January 2, 2025, in his home in Ricardo, Texas with his wife and daughter beside him. Manuel was born on July 25, 1941, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Manuel Ramos, Sr. and Erlinda Gonzales Ramos.

Manuel was a proud Marine and football coach. After serving his country he attended Midwestern University. After graduation he was hired as a football coach in Wichita Falls and was proud when his “football boys” won the state championship in his last year as coach. He then went to work at the San Antonio state Hospital as Director of Human Resources, followed by Director of the Laredo State Center in Laredo, Texas. From there he went to work as Hospital administrator of Deer Park Hospital, Deer Park, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Linda Gonzales and his grandson Brandon Ramos. He is survived by his wife Emma Ochoa Ramos whom he met in Laredo, Texas and married in 1980, his sons Jim (Wichita Falls, Tx), Michael and Tim Ramos (Houston, Tx), stepchildren Adan Rene Perez (Houston, Tx) and Melissa Perez Estrada (Kingsville, Tx), four grandchildren, Dylan Ramos (Monterrey, Ca), Ryan Estrada (Kingsville, Tx), Mason and Christian Ramos (Houston, Tx), and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive condolences from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, with the holy rosary to be recited at 10:00 am, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary located in Kingsville, Texas. A private graveside service will follow.
