Lynell L. Johnson, known to many as Hollywood, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at the age of 33. He was born February 4, 1984, in San Francisco, California and later moved to Kingsville, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother Rutha Hughey.
He is survived by his mother, Rhodena Mixon; his children Kayla, Lauren, Kaylani, Athena, Lynell Jr., Lindell, Lamont, Alonzo, Tristen, Arlando, Maiah, Aubrie, and Tiana; siblings, Pearl Wigfall of Kingsville, TX, Jocely Burnam of San Francisco, CA, Jasmine Burnam of Kingsville, TX; 4 brothers, Louia Johnson of San Francisco, CA.; Zakariah Shabazz of San Francisco, Desmond Thomas of Waco, TX, Shawn Shabazz of San Antonio, TX ; godsister, Nikita Mumford.
In 2007 he started his boxing career out of the 12th Street Gym; he made his professional debut in the Cruiserweight Division on March 17, 2012. Lynell is remembered most by his family and friends for his love of boxing, his humor, and passion for animals especially Penelope.
All services will be held at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas. Visitation is Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.Funeral Services are Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
