Louise Williamson, 81, of Riviera went to be with our Lord and Savior January 30, 2016. She was born December 20, 1934 to Alcie Oertle Day and Edward H Day in Kingsville, TX before being lovingly adopted in early childhood by Viola Mae Rawalt and Louis Enoch of Corpus Christi, TX.
She married the love of her life, late Rev. Nard Olen Williamson, on April 6, 1953 in Corpus Christi and faithfully stood by his side for 57 years. They made a life for themselves in Riviera where Louise was an active member in the community and a lifelong member of 1st Baptist Church in Riviera where her husband was a preacher. She was the co-owner and manager of the family business, Williamson Boat Works. Louise was a loving mother, Meemaw, Pastor's wife, friend and will be deeply missed by each life she touched.
Family and friends were Louise's passion and delight. She was a devoted and unselfish Meemaw and mother with countless miles clocked in chauffeuring kids and grandkids across Texas and beyond. She was the best cook this side of the Mississippi river and always had bacon and pancakes ready for breakfast for ALL of her grandkids on Saturday mornings.
She loved to host and entertain and loved being surrounded by her family. She was a holiday planner extraordinaire and she always made sure no one went home hungry. If she thought you might be, you got sent home with a doggie bag!
Louise's gardens and landscaping were something out of a magazine. She tended to her plants with love and care and yielded lush, overflowing gardens; perfect for early morning coffee breaks and chats on the front porch overlooking the bay.
She is survived by her children; 1 son, Scott Williamson of Riviera, 3 daughters, Catherine Williamson of Riviera, Cynthia Williamson of Ingleside and Phyllis (Steven) Unterbrink of Riviera; 8 grandchildren, Jeanne (Jason) Taylor, Tiffany Young both of Ingleside, Ashley (Willie) Roy of Waco, Courtney Young of Ingleside, Jordan Young of Toledo, OH, Dallas, Cheyenne and Dakota Unterbrink of Riviera; 5 great grandchildren, Jackson, Reagan, Madison, Calleigh and Gracie; 1 brother, Charles Rawalt of Corpus Christi and lovingly reunited siblings Velma Jo Day Riemenshneider of San Angelo, TX, George W. Day of Filer, Idaho, Edwina Day Bolin Montgomery of Huntsville, TX and half-sister Doyce Day Stewart of Placerville, CA.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband Nard Olen Williamson.
A small graveside service will be held in Riviera Cemetery on the special day of Louise and Nard's wedding anniversary April 6th for family and close friends.
