Lisa Ann Elliott, 50, of Bishop, Texas passed away peacefully Monday, April 17th, 2017 in Corpus Christi with her husband John Elliott at her side.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Bishop, location at 311 East 5th St. in Bishop on Saturday, April 22, 2017. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm April 22, 2017 at First Baptist Church with Reverend Lee Ortegon and Clif Abshier officiating. Interment will follow in Bishop at Restland Cemetery.
Lisa Elliott was born in Portsmouth, Virginia to Kenneth and Marilyn Nolter on December 1st, 1966. She graduated from H.M. King High school in Kingsville, Texas in 1984. Upon graduation, she attended Texas A& I University. Lisa was accepted into the nursing program at Del Mar College, where she graduated in July 16, 1998 with a degree in nursing. Lisa worked as a Bank Teller at Kleberg First National Bank for 6 years and after graduating from Nursing School, she worked as a Nurse at Spohn Kleberg Hospital in Kingsville. Lisa absolutely loved nursing. In 1991 Lisa married the love of her life, her constant and steadfast companion, through all her many trials, John Elliott. Lisa was a long time (over 30 years) Hodgkin's and Breast cancer survivor. As a survivor, she was involved in helping many other Cancer Survivors throughout the country with an online forum. Additionally, Lisa was very involved in church activities. After sermons, she would get the tapes, make numerous copies and then spend the time to hand deliver the copies to all the elderly folks who couldn't attend the service. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing and hunting.
Lisa is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth G. Nolter; mother, Marilyn E. Brileya; and mother-in-law, Eva Nell Elliot.
Lisa is survived by her husband, John Norman Elliott and father-in-law, Lyndon Elliott of Bishop; brother, Roger Scott Nolter of Millville, New Jersey; sister-in-law, Teresa M. Nolter of Millville, NJ; niece, Sara Bermudez of Pemberton, NJ; nephew, Aaron Z. Nolter of Mays Landing, NJ; niece, Aarika J. Gaskill of Millville, NJ; nephew, Zachary R. Nolter of Millville, NJ; niece, Crystal R. Nolter of Millville, NJ; aunt and uncle Vera and Calvin Nolter of Mount Carmel, PA; cousin, Marie Johnson of Mount Carmel, PA; cousin, Brian Nolter of Frackville, PA; cousin, Elaine Evanicki of Drums, PA; aunt and uncle Elaine and Gale Stanley of Salisbury, VT; cousin, Glenn Stanley of Middlebury, VT; cousin, Steven Stanley of Salisbury, VT; and cousin, Gary Stanley of Rapid City, SD.
