Larry Lopez, age 73, a resident of Kingsville, TX passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 in Corpus Christi, TX.
He was born on March 15, 1943, to Natividad Lopez and Nicolasa Curiel Lopez in Kingsville, Texas.
He worked for 35 years with AT&T until his retirement in 2005. Larry was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and taking his quarter horse mare, Vieja, on numerous trail rides.
He served in the United States Army from 1967 until 1969 being honorably discharged upon completion of his tour. Trained as a medic he was stationed at Camp Zama - United States Army Medical Command Japan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sylvia Lopez Belt.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Maria G. Lopez, his children: Larry Jason Lopez of Austin, TX; Nikki (Sam) Saldivar of Corpus Christi, TX; granddaughters: Adria and Trinity Saldivar; sister, Dora Trichell and brother, Julian Briones both of Louisiana, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Monday, April 4, 2016 at 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M., that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 10:00 A.M., at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville, TX. Services are entrusted by Turcotte Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, TX.
